A lot of folks in New Jersey would rather try to control the state’s burgeoning bear population with bear birth control rather than hunting. A study indicates birth control is not very effective and it is costly.

maybe we should practise a little birth control on humanity, as oppoesed to always trying to kill, cull, relocate, sterile critters,, we could sure use a cutback,,,
It looks like there will be no hunt this year according to the local NJ news, the dems stopped it. Hunting groups say this will cause the bear pop. in n.j. to explode from 3000 to 4000 in one year. Well atleast there will not be any orphaned bears this year. Also people need to follow the rules with bear proof containers and caution.
Hopefully Black Bears will begin to populate the NJ Pine Barrens region, which already has had bears sighted and confirmed there.
There is plenty of food and habitiat with atleast 300,000 protected acres in south jersey .
