Dr. Ralph Maughan is professor emeritus of political science at Idaho State University. He was a Western Watersheds Project Board Member off and on for many years, and was also its President for several years. For a long time he produced Ralph Maughan’s Wolf Report. He was a founder of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition. He and Jackie Johnson Maughan wrote three editions of “Hiking Idaho.” He also wrote “Beyond the Tetons” and “Backpacking Wyoming’s Teton and Washakie Wilderness.” He created and is the administrator of The Wildlife News.

I’ve about had it with Wyoming. We, the people that spend thousands of dollars each in that state to see the natural world and wildlife as it should be, are not being heard. Who benefits from all of that money? People of Wyoming. If you have to kill things and change the environment to run your business or do your hobby get a new business or new hobby. I for one will stay away–and hate to do it! People of Wyoming will let these 18th century morons turn their state into another Arizona where the grizzly is gone, the wolf is almost gone again, and Wyoming doesn’t have Arizona’s weather! Intelligent people will never flock to Wyo. to see cowboys and cows. I don’t think major league baseball is moving spring training there anytime soon…
