Dr. Ralph Maughan is professor emeritus of political science at Idaho State University. He was a Western Watersheds Project Board Member off and on for many years, and was also its President for several years. For a long time he produced Ralph Maughan’s Wolf Report. He was a founder of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition. He and Jackie Johnson Maughan wrote three editions of “Hiking Idaho.” He also wrote “Beyond the Tetons” and “Backpacking Wyoming’s Teton and Washakie Wilderness.” He created and is the administrator of The Wildlife News.

Pro life choice is pro life for all creatures, including animals.
Palin is the worst of all possible choices.
We were camping this weekend when I heard a smitten of news, I was not sure if the lady McCain picked was that one that was so corrupt in Alaska that I read about here, I told my friend if it was the animals and wildlands will suffer all over now. Now I am home and know it is…I was planning on voting Dem but now for sure!! Lord help our animals if she is VP!
Why is it that those who loudly proclaim their love for Jesus or the Creator are in the forefront of destroying the Creation? In lieu of solving our human social pathologies, they look for scapegoats like other critters or gimmicks like believing that a free market can for “forever” satisfy greed.
The social aspect of this whole situation emerges from he concept that humans are specialer than other species. I don’t see where industrialization and massive growth of wasteful human presence is of any benefit to any other living organism in the biosphere, and I don’t see how opposible digits are really a sign of superior intellect when you look at what destruction we’ve wrought upon the rest of the living organisms on the planet….
and only for the benefit of a few of us in any benefit was achieved at all.
Most of our aspirations, on the whole, are based on exploitation of all other things without any compensatory effort on our part other than the usual complaint about how hard it is to exploit something that isn’t anything we produced of our own selves…
