Report: Wildlife Service’s “War on Wildlife” needlessly slaughters America’s valued wildlife costing taxpayers $100 million per year
Wendy Keefover-Ring, director of carnivore protection for WildEarth Guardians, and others have been compiling the facts, gathering the support of 115 conservation groups, and building a solid case to end the wasteful War on Wildlife currently being waged by the out-of-control ‘Wildlife Services’.

Someone needs to add some data to the Wikipedia entry for Wildlife Services. It is seriously lacking.

Wildlife Services is an unethical, biased, ignorant, downright criminal organization that has greatly destroyed the West and its native inhabitant animals, who have been its unfortunate persecuted VICTIMS since its INCEPTION.
WILDLIFE SERVICES should be de-funded immediately!!!
On a practical level, and this is just anecdotal, I’ve personally found that the general population on the eastern, midwest, and southern areas of the U.S. are extremely ignorant of Western issues such as the destruction of wildlife and wildlife habitat due to the livestock industry and Wildlife Services. There needs to be a huge PR blitz to properly educate that segment.
I’ll believe it when I hold wildlife services’ “cold, dead, heart in my hand”. The economy seems to be a convenient excuse to kill education and other things the public holds valuable, but cuts to departments like wildlife services and their EXTREMELY wasteful spending seem to escape the knife. Our politicians are downright criminal in their representation of big business, not to mention their snickering dislike of “big government” which is antithetical to their real actions.
I’m from an area in Virginia that is overrun with deer. I’ve sent several e-mails to the Nevada Board of Wildlife offering a trade of deer for cougars at a rate of 1,000 to 1. Pretty lame, I know, but if I were more facile with computers, I would certainly jam their system with automatically repeated messages. Anyone out there with this skill? None of the newspapers I wrote, either there or here seem inclined to print anything about “Wildlife Services”. The best readership I’ve gotten is from posting the issue on every blog I’ve had time for. How about some well placed magazine ads?
