Grizzlies using highway crossings. By Cathy Ellis. Rocky Mountain Outlook. They clearly are working.

It would be nice if some of stimulus money here in the U.S. went into wildlife crossings. They are as shovel ready as other highway projects.

This is good news and I agree Ralph, it would be good to have some crossing structures in critical areas here in the U.S.

One place that comes to mind is that stretch along highway 191 inside Yellowstone where all kinds of wildlife are killed by the speeding traffic through the Park. There are many other places that would benefit as well.

Quote

‎"At some point we must draw a line across the ground of our home and our being, drive a spear into the land and say to the bulldozers, earthmovers, government and corporations, “thus far and no further.” If we do not, we shall later feel, instead of pride, the regret of Thoreau, that good but overly-bookish man, who wrote, near the end of his life, “If I repent of anything it is likely to be my good behaviour."

~ Edward Abbey
