Let’s hope this person gets nailed. The anti-Palin comments were interesting in the article. The paws on that bear look like they should be on a Kodiak.
How sad. In many years of tracking and filming grizly’s in and around Yellowstone I doubt I have ever seen one much over 4, maby 500 lbs.
How magnificiant the big guy must have been. I would of given half my ownings jutt to see him one time.

I was sick to read this report–that beautiful, massive bear who had NEVER been in trouble. What is being done to find and punish his murderer? I know what I would like to do to this creep……I hope he is caught and SEVERELY punished.
This is very very sad, it only takes one rotten person to spoil our wildlife. This person should be banned for life of hunting in this region, put him in jail for three years at least.

Don – The Crown of the Continent ecosystem is very special. Even the black bears up there seem bigger.
I was up on the front this fall, and it was a great experience. I pulled into Choteau at about 1 AM,and then had to drive 40 miles on bad road to my camp. The wind was howling out on the front. Even though I was driving on the prairie, you could just feel how wild this country is. This is where those great bears come from. IMHO wilderness designation for this area is a priority.
caroline, it will be interesting to see if caught if the poacher even has his hunting privledges suspended at all. until there are stiffer penalties these incidences will continue to happen- where’s the deterence?
