    What I heard was that the Harrimans, who donated the land for Harriman State Park in Island Park specified that the state had to have a functioning state parks agency in order to recieve the land parcel. OOPS!

    Which means that the state can’t keep the property unless they maintain a parks department (agency). So that was a nonstarter before Otter even hatched the idea from his pea-sized brain.
