Pressure to Kill Wolves Mounting Across the Western USA

This article is from the Environment News Service about the new 10j proposed rule and the backdoor approval of Wyoming’s “keep them inside Yellowstone Park” state wolf plan.

The headline is a bit misleading. I think what we are seeing is a last gasp from George Bush’s supporters while the fool President and his corrupt buddies and their corrupt buddies are in power.

  1. I gave a presentation that is now becoming more and more relavent to this topic at the Frontiers of Wolf Recovery conference in 2005. The presentation (found at: http://www.wolveswolveswolves.org/FoundationNews.htm) was about how the NRMWRP failed to scientifically address the major reasons why wolves were extirpated and therefore needed to be reintroduced.

In effect, the FWS dumped wolves back into the same enviroment (political and emotional) that was the cause of their demise in the first place. The merely set numeric goals, and plodded along, hoping no one would be the wiser to their failure.

IWC personnel even criticised my observations, citing their own region’s success with wolves; to which I responded that the reason was probably a difference in attitudes, regionally speaking.

Now it is becoming more and more clear to me that wolves are still threatened and will likely suffer a similar fate as they did some 50 years ago.

In effect, the NRMWRP has become its own threat, assuming these latest proposed changes go through.
