Dr. Ralph Maughan is professor emeritus of political science at Idaho State University. He was a Western Watersheds Project Board Member off and on for many years, and was also its President for several years. For a long time he produced Ralph Maughan’s Wolf Report. He was a founder of the Greater Yellowstone Coalition. He and Jackie Johnson Maughan wrote three editions of “Hiking Idaho.” He also wrote “Beyond the Tetons” and “Backpacking Wyoming’s Teton and Washakie Wilderness.” He created and is the administrator of The Wildlife News.

U.S. senators impressed with Alberta oilsands tour

The senators were Republicans Lindsey Graham and Saxby Chambliss.
Sen. Kay Hagan, a Democrat was there too. Regardless, the two Rep.s seem to like the biased, narrowly focused manner in which they were “handled”. One stated that because they saw lots of wilderness on the way there, on a plane, that the oilsands operators were good environmental stewards. they had no contact with the locals. Shows you how they perceive the public of their country…
I find it disgusting that our government is allowing all this to take place. They send young people to die in a foriegn country like afghanastan to protect people over there, yet they sacrifice the lives of our people at home. No wonder they wan’t to change our national anthem, especially the part that says we stand on guard for thee. shame on them all.
