Plan to ban trapping near residential areas in Washoe is rejected

Unbelievably the plan was opposed by Wildlife Services.

That is disgusting! Not only are pets caught in traps, but the animals trapped are subjected to cruel and painful tactics and death. What is the matter with people these days? Absolutely no compassion for the suffering of animals.

Ofcourse, trappers putting their “heritage” above pet and people safety.

The only good place for a leghold trap is at the bottom of a lake

Well John they are paranoid because their heritage is under assault- I wonder why?

William, these trappers obviously care little for people’s pets getting stuck in one of their traps or people for that matter getting stuck. I say fuck their heritage and put people’s pets and people’s safety above their heritage.

Some states have already outlawed trapping. I hope more states follow. Trappers have no good reason to do what they do besides saying it’s their heritage. They make very little money from it. People’s pets get trapped and even people have been trapped from time to time and most people don’t even see these traps and we are going to give in because a small minority of people are complaining about their heritage being stomped on?

I expect fish and game agencies to side with trappers because I bet a good deal of the people that work in these agencies are trappers themselves William. In some years ahead, I see trapping being banned in most states and it will be a thing of the past where it belongs.

I am not a trapper, never have done it, and I don’t intend to do it, but I do know a few guys that make quite a bit of money trapping…

Also, I thought based on previous conversations on this blog, people are suppose to keep there pets on a lease? At least that I what was posted before when the conversation turned to peoples pets being harmed by predators….

And just to add, I am not saying I advocate for trapping, it in this day and age is something that probably needs to end…

You know, it’s really too bad that there isn’t some other species that treats people that way, it would be a good lesson for many… oh wait, we humans already do that to other humans, even in this country.
