Unbalanced reporting about the climate and Rupert Murdoch

There has been a lot of discussion about Murdoch’s sudden legal and political troubles. Given that he is one of the most dangerous people on the planet, it is hard to have sympathy. Today “This week in Science,” in Daily Kos is about the matter (but similar data can be found in many places).

  1. The main stream news media, generally, ignores the right wing outrageous war aganist arthmetic, physics and chemistry. Emperical evidence & facts are replaced with mythology. With the exception of the science of human health, all other science is bunk. Pat Buchanon-the poster child for this ignorance– said the following on a TV news program: “evolution is bunk, climate change is a hoax and I care less about the destruction of the world’s rain forests”. This fool, in the past, was a candidate for president of this country. Only in America!

    1. The joke will be on Buchanan when he realizes that the idiot son KOCHsuckers won’t have an available space for him on their private jet when the east coast falls into the Atlantic

I thought the performance by the Murdoch’s before Parliament on Tuesday would settle things down for a couple of weeks but it did not. The pie in the face, I believe, drew public sympathy for Rupert and I thought it might win him public support. The night of the long-knives is simply not going to end for Murdoch…not anytime soon. There are certainly many, like myself, who believe he is guilty of something and wants his organization destroyed.

For me, there has to be an explanation as to why the media and the society have taken such a dangerous right turn in the past decade. The right just thumbs their nose at science on this climate issue and it is like they have never done before…except maybe in the case of the religious right and creationism vs evolution.

Fox News is so unrepentant about its clear intent to manipulate the gullible, the ignorant, and the greedy towards extreme policies. I don’t get the motive behind all this. It has to be greed and corruption. What else could motivate a broadcasting company like Fox News to support environmental destruction or to condone political corruption on the scale that it does. Murdoch just seems like he has the ambition of Lucifer. There is no other explanation for actions.

    1. A Video made by Anders Behring Breivik, the right-wing nut who killed all the people in Norway. It is slightly related to the topic of the extreme right turn the West has taken in recent years.
