One Response to Missoulian editorial. Montana's plan for wolf management much more sensible than Idaho governor's ideas

  1. Rick Hammel says:

This is a well thougth out editorial. We need more like it.

Predators, including man, have to rely on their hunting skills to flush out their prey. It would seem to me that the unsuccessful human hunter, just does not have the hunting skill of other predators.

Now that elk in wolf counrty is no longer alternative livestock, humans will have to be craftier than elk. Or is it, elk are smarter than a lot of humans? It seems that the hunters that are whining the most are the ones that come away from a hunt empty-handed

Quote

‎"At some point we must draw a line across the ground of our home and our being, drive a spear into the land and say to the bulldozers, earthmovers, government and corporations, “thus far and no further.” If we do not, we shall later feel, instead of pride, the regret of Thoreau, that good but overly-bookish man, who wrote, near the end of his life, “If I repent of anything it is likely to be my good behaviour."
