3 Responses to Obama's nominee to direct Forest Service, related agencies withdraws

  1. Mike says:

Hmmm…would like to see more on this. Any guesses on a replacement?

  2. Craig says:

Saw a great bumper sticker today,…. I’ll keep my guns & money, you can keep the CHANGE!

  3. JimT says:

No rumors so far, but I can guarantee you it won’t be a career environmentalist who knows Forest Service issues…you know, someone who could actually bring some “change” to the agency’s agenda and culture. God knows they need it for the front line employees’ sakes.

Quote

‎"At some point we must draw a line across the ground of our home and our being, drive a spear into the land and say to the bulldozers, earthmovers, government and corporations, “thus far and no further.” If we do not, we shall later feel, instead of pride, the regret of Thoreau, that good but overly-bookish man, who wrote, near the end of his life, “If I repent of anything it is likely to be my good behaviour."

~ Edward Abbey
